Should I get these games?

Okay, this'll be a different approach then my prevous... not segment reguarding a bunch of franchises that I wanted to get into. The games in question are the following:

Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Final Fantasy XIII-2
Mass Effect 3

Now these games look kinda cool and are part of franchises that I've either never gotten into, or failed to get into. The games look awesome and I'm thinking about asking for these for my birthday. Though, of course I don't want to just jump in and get confused with certian elements. So should I get these games and start from there, or pursue other games first.

Oh and how strange is it that my first question was on Final Fnatasy, and I start asking about it again almost 200 questions later. Hey bajeet, I STILL haven't tried FFXIII!

LoZ:SS Is a great intro game to the series. If you're looking for 1 game to get into a series, this is it. But...

FFXIII-2 is not. Play and earlier FF before X to really appreciate the FF universe.

You'll need to get ME2, just because it's a great buildup to 3. ME3 will have a story and you can come into the series pretty blind, but it would be beneficial to you to get ME2 (for real cheap), play that all the way through in preparation for ME3. I'd stay away from ME1...personally it was really hard to play through (even though it's a great game) and asking you to go through 2 games for a third one is probably a little too much.

  1. Mass Effect 3 looks like it's going to be awesome and Mass Effect definitely has a solid story and a lot to do, so put that on the list. I have FF XIII-2 at home and it is awesome! Way better than XIII and sort of has it's own story. So you don't have to play the first one. Now Skyward Sword wasn't the best, but it had potential. Probably should just stick with XIII-2 and ME3.

  2. I have never been into zelda. The only time I liked link and zelda was in super smash bros. Final Fantasy looks awesome. Never played any Final Fantasy but that might be changing soon. I herd it has good story lines.

  3. Dude, I don't know. FF is all good but i had trouble getting into the one just before this one. Zelda series has always been fun for me. I've never played Mass Effect. I guess I'd vote Zelda.

  4. I personally would not play mass effect 3 without having already played the other two but the whole mass effect series is great.

  5. Definitely get Skyward Sword, the zelda series in my opinion the best of all time and a can't miss by a gamer. Also Mass Effect 3 is a must buy as well, the series is one of the best this generation. Although you should honestly play the other ones first, for there is truly VERY good build up as the games progress and importing your campaign through the games gives a very awesome personal experience to create your own story. And you still haven't played the FF13, I answered that question so long ago! lol

  6. It seems mass effect 3 is gonna be the winner with them even including a xbox trial with their game. Im playing final fantasy xiii-2 right now, and so far so good.
