What do you think about Xbox 720 being 6X more powerful than the 360?

It's rumored that it'll be 6X more powerful than the Xbox we currently have. How do you feel about that?

Personally, I feel like it's pretty weak. Consoles usually advance a lot between generations (10X more powerful being common) and this seems like a small jump. Of course that's not the only thing that'll change, so maybe something else will justify the low number (We better atleast get Blu Ray and 60FPS!)

This is just a rumor, so who knows how it'll eventually turn out. :P

How coincidencial that I just watched TheGUNNShop video about this topic earlier today. But I digress. I agree it's a bit weak. This doesn't seem like the jump from 360 to 720- it sounds like a jump from GameCube to Wii. It's a bit pathetic when you think about that. Grant it the Wii U is said to be 50% or 2x more powerful than the 360 and PS3. So Microsoft already has them by 3x more power, but even then, it's not too big.

To me though, I play my game consoles for games. I don't care that the Wii was only a little better than the PS2 graphics, because Nintendo has enjoyable games. I can really care less about graphical capabilities for my games. Sure it helps a bit, but it's not that important to me.

In other news, another rumor states that the 720 won't allow used titles to be played on their system. That's what I'm worried about. Imagne not being able to lend a game to your friend for the weekend. Imagine not being able to return games you don't want. That's a tragedy right there.

  1. It sounds like Microsoft might be adjusting to the times. Everyones broke gas is almost 4 dollars a gallon and I don't see things getting any better. Why make a super powered system thats gonna cost more than your monthly rent. An improvment would be nice, but I don't want to have to explain to the kids why daddy spent all the chrismas money on a super console. PS: I don't have any kids...

  2. What do they mean 6x more powerful? By what are we measuring this? I really don't know how I feel about this because some phrase like this has no real application for me. I don't know what that means or looks like except that it could potentially play 6 360 games at once but that's stupid. If some one could explain this to a layman like me I would appreciate it.

  3. At the end of every single one of my days, I play video games for the games. I could care less about the graphical power of the incoming generation. We could have the 360 for another 4 years for all I care. Just sayin.
