I'm pretty sure it's because in the first one you gained enough human DNA to restore some lost Furon powers, such as taking over people's bodies. If you remember the whole reason you came to Earth in the first one was because the Furons had become unable to reproduce becuase of their nuclear warfare and their DNA was gradually declining. Humans have some Furon DNA in them because some Furons got lost on Earth thousands of years ago. The more DNA you get the the more the Furon DNA is restored and the more abilities you get.
